He knows how to take a joke with a hearty laugh but is terrible when it comes to making his own. His facial features during meetings or briefings will portray a look of boredom, but this is not always the case. He values the balance between family life and duty but will choose his wife and children over everything, knowing that at the end of the day, they are more important. | Personal History | Zaiden Finley Jackson Charles Isaac was born on July 27th, 2356, to a human single mother, Alexandra, who was already raising his two slightly older brothers, Jayden and Beauden, who were 3 and 4 years old at the time. Their father, a Rigellian (Vulcanoid) named Silas, who was the owner and captain of a civilian cargo ship that had come under immense fire from pirates, died during this incident five months before Zaiden was born. When the boys were slightly older, Alexandra went on to marry another successful trader, a Vulcan named Koren Salazar, whom Zaiden and his brothers idolized and took most of their direction (and discipline) from, eventually leading them to call Koren their father. Zaiden saw how much his parents loved each other and vowed that he would grow up to find a woman he loved just as much and have the same kind of relationship they had. At the age of 13 and already working as a runner boy for his father's company after school had finished and on weekends, Zaiden had started slipping behind in his school work and found some new friends that his mother considered bad who eventually led him down the path of crime and getting arrested for breaking and entering into a restricted area, whereas the other boys got arrested for arson as well. After being forcibly removed from one senior studies school and threatened with removal from another in his final two years of schooling, Zaiden was given a final chance by his parents to get himself together, or he would end up on a path to nowhere and would tarnish the reputation both of them had worked so hard to gain. It was only after this ultimatum that he began to really see his life for what it was and the hurt he was causing the family, so he made a bargain with his mother to do better in school and make her proud of him like she was of his brothers. Shortly after, Zaiden was involved in a vehicle accident where the brakes had failed and sent the vehicle headfirst into in a wall, causing him to be thrown out and onto the pavement a fair distance away. Everyone, including doctors and his parents said that it was a miracle Zaiden had survived and that someone was definitely watching out for him that day. Unfortunately, the other people involved were not as lucky and didn't survive. The doctors said that there were multiple injuries to his head they were able to fix and that his recovery would be easy with some rehabilitation. What the doctors didn't know was that Zaiden would develop a tremor in his left hand that would get worse in the colder weather, and he would have this for the rest of his life. Two months after he made the promise to his mother, he met the raven-haired, blue-eyed beauty at school who was Helena Czuchry, and she absolutely hated him on sight because of his cocky attitude and disruptive nature, but especially hated the fact that he looked utterly bored whenever he did anything. He knew that she was the one for him, would be instrumental in his recovery, and if he played his cards right, she would fall madly in love with him. It started with a couple of classes together, then being partnered up for study, then hanging out with mutual friends and each other, and by the time the end of year dance came around, they were officially together. It was decided that, seeing as he'd pulled himself together, his grades had improved and he was now working on building a life with Helena, he would focus more on study and graduate so that he could do something with his life. A career day came around with Starfleet being one of the main crowd draws, and Zaiden spoke with a former star ship Captain, and he could see himself becoming just like his father. His parents were so proud when he passed all his courses to join the Academy, even though he would have to leave them and everything he knew behind. Helena was ecstatic too and chose to go with him, further solidifying the bond they had. She was, after all, hoping to become a nurse one day so why not do things the Starfleet way? Zaiden took it upon himself to advise his and Helena's parents that they would be taking time out to explore and adventure around Earth before they decided to do anything regarding their careers, and surprisingly, everyone involved took it well. His parents wished them the best of luck, hers prayed for them to be safe and happy. They enjoyed a happy relationship, occasionally inviting other people to join in on their more intimate moments and exploring what it means to be a sexual being with natural and sometimes overwhelming urges, but they always found the true love and passion came from just being together. At the age of 22 and after being together for five years, Zaiden proposed to Helena under the moonlight on a beach during a romantic date night for their anniversary. This was, of course, the human way to do it! Helena said yes with quite an amount of enthusiasm, and their wedding was eight months later, both aged 23, with Jayden and Beauden as the groomsmen and Helena's sisters Freya and Saicha as bridesmaids, and all four parents were in attendance, along with a handful of other friends and family. Zaiden was granted special leave from the Academy for a weekend to spend it with his new wife and their families. Over the next five years, Zaiden and Helena experienced the joy of finding out they were expecting a child twice but that joy would turn to heartbreak as the pregnancy would never come to full term due to complications and Zaiden would watch his wife go into a severe depression that would almost break them apart each time. At a loss on what to do, Zaiden vowed he would never leave her side, no matter what happened or what stood in their way. There was a light at the end of the tunnel, after all. When they had just about given up hope of having a family the natural way, not through lack of trying either, Helena found out she was pregnant again and this time it was twins. Multiple scans later and with no complications this time, she delivered a healthy baby boy and girl that they named Finley Kyle and Avery Willow-Maria Isaac. This was one of the few times Zaiden openly wept tears of joy, love and devotion. |

| Service Record | 2375 - Starfleet Academy Application At the age of 19, Zaiden applied for Starfleet Academy and attended the Starfleet Academy Preparatory Program for six weeks, passing this with flying colours while managing to improve on his overall fitness and knowledge levels. He received confirmation from the admissions committee not long after saying that he'd passed the program and was now eligible to take the entrance exam to attend the Academy as an Officer Candidate. A formal promotion ceremony was given and Zaiden was granted the rank of Commander, along with the handover of the Lamarr class vessel USS Equitas that came with just shy of 900 crew. It wasn't a bad start, and he was excited to begin this new chapter of his life with his family by his side. |
